We are pleased to announce PPB19, the 11th International Plasma Product Biotechnology Conference to be held in Giardini Naxos, Sicily.
The Plasma Product Biotechnology Conference Series, now in it’s twentieth year, has established a reputation as the key international forum for the presentation and discussion of topics relevant to the plasma fractionation industry. Once again the PPB19 meeting will provide a topical and stimulating program detailing the latest developments of importance to the industry. The sessions, compiled from submitted presentations, will cover the areas of manufacturing, quality, regulatory, pathogen safety, clinical development and technical innovations, and will chaired by recognised industry experts with broad plasma products experience and insight into their individual disciplines.
A key part of PPB19 is to deliver an overview of strategic issues and highlight developing trends from industry leaders. This will be provided with the commencement keynote lecture from Dr Pieter de Geus, Member Executive Board, Sanquin Blood Supply, The Netherlands, entitled "How to address growing plasma demand while retaining the principles of voluntary non-remunerated donation?"
PPB19 will also have a special focus on recent developments in the treatment of haemophilia, including gene therapy, by Professor John Pasi, Professor of Haemostasis and Thrombosis, Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry, UK. His talk is entitled "Next generation disruptive therapies for haemophilia".
As with past events, PPB19 will encourage networking and discussion between participants by providing a relaxed and informal format. A key part of the meetings has always been the poster session and this tradition will continue in Sicily, providing a lively and highly interactive session.
If you work in or have an interest in plasma fractionation, through your work in a research institute, a government agency, a manufacturer, a supply company or consultancy, and are seeking to update your knowledge of the industry, or to learn, explore or disseminate new ideas and information, PPB19 is the event for you.
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I invite you to the 11th Plasma Product Biotechnology Meeting and look forward to meeting you in Sicily in 2019.
Chairman, The Plasma Product Biotechnology Conference Series
